In Russia, pine nuts are recognized as a strategic product and they will be imprisoned for their smuggling

In Russia, Korean pine nuts are included in the list of strategically important goods and resources, and their smuggling is punishable by imprisonment for up to 12 years. TASS reports that the corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

According to the decree, the list includes shelled and shelled pine nuts. According to article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, smuggling of strategic resources is punishable by imprisonment for up to 7 years, as part of a group – up to 12 years and a fine of up to 1 million rubles.

TASS notes that earlier the head of the Ministry of Nature, Alexander Kozlov, reported that his department plans to introduce control over the circulation of pine nuts and add it to the list. He stressed that this measure would allow criminal prosecution for the illegal export of this resource.
