The wind farm is located in the port of Burgsvik on the southern tip of the island of Gotland.

The engine part at the upper end of the wind turbine has caught fire. The rescue service is there, but it does not have equipment high enough to extinguish the fire.

Burning pieces are dripping from the power plant and the rescue service has cordoned off the area, says the chief of the rescue service Fredrik Mauritzon ruotsalais­medioille.

According to him, the wind turbine will burn to the ground because the rescue service will not be able to extinguish it.
