Brnabic told TV Prva that the four most important items in her decision were the first, of which the first is respect for Ukraine’s territorial integrity in accordance with international law, just as Serbia wants its territorial integrity to be respected.
“The second is that we will not impose sanctions on Russia in accordance with our interests, the third is to maintain military neutrality and we respect the decision that the army and police will suspend all exercises with other countries until further notice, and the fourth is to keep peace,” Brnabic said.
She added that she expects the pressures to continue and that Serbia is facing difficult times, but that she believes that the most important thing is for Serbia to preserve stability.
She praised the “wisdom of President Aleksandar Vučić” who, as he says, “did not run to declare himself”, but carefully weighed every word from the conclusions.
Brnabic added that she and Vucic are talking to partners from the European Union, that Serbia, despite being the only country in Europe that has not imposed sanctions on Russia, maintains its principled position and that Serbia has nothing to complain about.
She added that everyone laughed at Vučić when he talked about peas, beans, salt and canned fish, but that it was the job of the government to provide what is needed for the citizens and that Serbia has enough reserves.
