Around 340 bodies have been recovered in the Ukrainian city of Bucha, located on the outskirts of the capital, kyiv, since the withdrawal of Russian forces from the town, amid accusations against Russia for its alleged responsibility in the massacres, as reported on Monday by a Ukrainian media.
According to information provided by the newspaper ‘Ukrayinska Pravda’, which cites the funeral services of Bucha, so far between 330 and 340 bodies have been found in the town, some of them with their hands tied behind their backs and with wounds from bullet in the head.
“We don’t have time. There are at least 20 more addresses for today. Many people are buried in the gardens of houses. We cannot determine an exact number. There are no lists yet. We have buried at least 350 people,” these sources have highlighted.
The United States, the European Union (EU) or the United Kingdom have advanced that they are preparing new sanctions against Russia in response to these actions considered by Ukraine as “genocide”. For his part, the UN Secretary General has shown his “shock” and has called for an independent investigation into what happened.
For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry denied on Sunday that its forces had committed war crimes during their occupation of Bucha, now the scene of a possible international investigation after the appearance of images showing civilians executed in its streets.
