Netanyahu approves new rounds of talks in Qatar and Cairo to achieve ceasefire in Gaza

The office of the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, confirmed this Friday that the president has given his approval to the arrival in the coming days in Doha (Qatar) and Cairo (Egypt) of a “high-level” delegation to discuss a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages held by Palestinian militias.

“On the issue of negotiations for the release of the hostages, the prime minister spoke with the head of Mossad and the head of the Shin Bet and authorized delegations on his behalf to travel to Doha and Cairo in the coming days to continue negotiations. negotiations,” indicated the statement, collected by the ‘Jerusalem Post’.

The prime minister has let those responsible for his domestic and international intelligence and security services, David Barnea (head of the Mossad) and Ronen Bar (Shin Bet), know that they will have “room for maneuver” in the upcoming talks.

Barnea will lead the Israeli delegation to the Doha talks while Bar will head to Egypt, Netanyahu’s office adds.
