Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that the Islamic Republic will respond to any attempt to attack its interests. The statement was made in a telephone conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
“I state categorically: even the smallest action that threatens Iran’s interests will entail a harsh, painful and large-scale response,” Raisi told his interlocutor.
According to media publications, at a meeting of the military cabinet on April 15, it was decided to give a “clear and decisive response” to the Iranian attack on the territory of the Jewish state. The purpose of the strike is to prevent Iran from creating a new balance of power in the region, weakening Israel’s deterrent potential.
Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Herzi a-Levi visited the Nevatim base, which was the target of an Iranian strike, and met with personnel from the 140th Air Force Squadron, equipped with the latest F-35 combat aircraft.
“We are looking forward and weighing our steps. The launch of such a significant number of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles, into Israeli territory will not go unanswered,” the IDF press service quotes the military leader as saying.
