UN investigators accuse Israeli authorities of obstructing investigation into Hamas crimes

Israeli authorities are preventing members of the UN commission investigating the crimes of Hamas from communicating with victims and witnesses of the attack on October 7. This accusation was made by Chris Sidoti, one of the UN investigators, at a briefing in Geneva, which was organized by Egypt.

“As far as the Israeli government is concerned, we have encountered not just an unwillingness to cooperate, but also the creation of active obstacles to obtaining testimony from Israeli witnesses and victims of the events that occurred in southern Israel on October 7,” Sidoti was quoted as saying by CNN.

The UN commission, which includes Christopher Sidoti, is investigating not only the crimes of Hamas, but is collecting evidence of Israeli war crimes in the Palestinian territories after Black Saturday.

Chris Sidoti appealed to the Israeli government for cooperation and also asked victims and witnesses of Hamas crimes to contact the commission. However, he noted that the commission was able to contact some Israelis, but it would like to interview more people.
