Time’s 100 Most Influential People of 2024: Navalnaya, hostage mother, Gaza-based photojournalist

Time magazine has published a list of the “100 Most Influential People of 2024.” Particularly highlighted are singer Dua Lipa, American football star Patrick Mahomes, actress Taraji Henson and Yulia Navalnaya, whom Time calls the leader of the Russian opposition.

Women are leading this year not only in the “number of covers,” but also in the list overall. Of the 100 named, 51 are women. These include Sofia Coppola, Kylie Minogue, Kelly Ripa, Rachel Goldberg-Pauline and many others.

Rachel Goldberg-Pauline is the mother of 23-year-old Hirsch, a US citizen who was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists along with other Nova Festival participants in the Re’im Forest on October 7, 2023.

The Time Hundred includes such politicians as the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Ermak, CIA Director William Burns, Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk, and Prime Minister of Qatar Muhammad bin Abdulrahman al-Thani.

The youngest on the list was 25-year-old photojournalist from Gaza, UNRWA employee Mutaz Azaiza, the oldest was 86-year-old Joel Habener, professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Not only the names of those who made it into the TOP 100 are noteworthy, but also the names of the authors of articles about these people. For example, US President Joe Biden writes about UAW union president Sean Fein, Mark Zuckerberg writes about Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Michelle Obama writes about American art museum curator Thelma Golden, etc.
