The US will begin “very soon” the construction of the temporary port to supply aid to Gaza

The United States announced this Tuesday that it will begin “very soon” the construction of the temporary port to supply aid to the Gaza Strip, where nearly 34,200 people have died in the framework of the Israeli offensive against the Palestinian enclave, controlled by the Movement of Islamic Resistance (Hamas).

“All the necessary ships are in the Mediterranean region and ready to begin construction when given the order to do so,” Pentagon spokesman General Patrick Ryder said in a press conference.

In this sense, he explained that it is necessary to follow a very specific schedule of “coordination with the partners who will support this initiative.” Ryder has detailed that the aid will be transported to the dock by American ships and then will be loaded into “non-military” trucks of humanitarian NGOs.

Israel’s severe restrictions on the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip are leaving a Palestinian population without reserves, who in addition to dying under bombs are already beginning to die from starvation and disease.
