Russia – Ukraine war: a mass grave was found near Kiev

Russian invasion of Ukraine: Dozens of bodies of Ukrainian citizens were found in a mass grave in the village of Buzova near Kiev, a Ukrainian official said today (Sunday). Taras Didich, head of the Dmitrivka community that includes Bozuba, said the bodies were found in a ditch near a gas station. He said the death toll had not yet been confirmed.

The mass grave was uncovered after Russian forces withdrew from areas north of the capital to target their attack in the east of the country. When at the same time, the Russian attacks continue. Valentin Resnichenko, the head of Dnepropetrovsk’s regional military administration in eastern Ukraine, said Moscow had carried out a series of attacks across the region over the past 24 hours.

“There were sirens almost every hour,” Resnichenko said. He said the attacks on the city of Dnipro had destroyed infrastructure and also, in the Pavlohrad district, east of Dnipro, a rocket hit an industrial facility, destroyed the place and caused a fire. Alongside this, the Azeri governor confirmed that two people had been killed violently in the town of Drachi in northeastern Kharkov.

A British intelligence update released tonight shows that Russia’s exit from northern Ukraine shows evidence that the forces are not fighting in a focused or proportionate manner. Evidence includes mass graves, lethal use of hostages as human shields and mining of civilian infrastructure, the update said.

“Russian forces continue to use explosives to cause, lower morale and restrict Ukraine’s freedom of movement,” it said. The intelligence added that the forces “continue to attack infrastructure with a high risk of incidental damage to civilians, including a container of nitric acid in Rubizna”.
