Microsoft invests more than 2 billion in Malaysia

Microsoft will invest more than 2.2 billion dollars (2 billion euros) in artificial intelligence and cloud technology in Malaysia over the next four years. CEO Satya Nadella of the American technology company announced this on Thursday.

Nadella is visiting Southeast Asia. Microsoft, like other major tech giants, is investing heavily in the region. To reduce geopolitical risks, the companies are also investing outside China, in countries such as Malaysia and Singapore.

Nadella previously announced an investment of $1.7 billion in Indonesia during his tour of the region. Microsoft is reportedly planning to build a data center in Thailand, worth an investment of approximately $1 billion.
