Mirzoyan and Borel discussed the steps to implement the new RA-EU partnership agenda

On Saturday, a telephone conversation was held with the Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and the Vice President of the European Commission, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borel.

According to the news agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues.

In the context of the deepening partnership between Armenia and the European Union, both sides emphasized the importance of both the implementation of already formed cooperation programs and reaching a new milestone in additional directions. In this context, reference was made to the “Armenia’s Resilience and Growth” EU program developed as a result of the Brussels meeting on April 5, as well as the steps to be taken in the direction of implementing the new RA-EU partnership agenda in the near future.

Mirzoyan also emphasized the importance of making a final decision on the start of the dialogue on the liberalization of RA-EU visas.

Reference was made to the upcoming activities and tasks on the agenda.

Mirzoyan and Borel exchanged ideas on regional issues. Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the process of regulating relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Referring to the border demarcation process between the two countries and the written agreements between the respective commissions, Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the process in 1991. The need to continue on the basis of the Alma-Ata Declaration, as also announced at the level of the leaders of the two countries. Presenting the discussions on the draft peace treaty, the head of the RA foreign political department emphasized that it will be possible to reach a final agreement by reflecting the agreements reached in the draft treaty as well, the message said.
