Spain and Portugal plan to reduce electricity exports to France

Spain and Portugal intend to make adjustments to France’s electricity supply in light of the crisis between the EU and Russia.

The Spanish newspaper “El Pais”, citing documents sent by the Spanish government to the European Commission, stated that the plan of Spain and Portugal provides for reducing the price of electricity and reducing the export of electricity to France.

At the same time, the EU authorities fear that such restrictions, however slight, would violate the integrity of the European market.

The publication notes that Germany and the Nordic countries have clearly demonstrated their opposition to this measure.
