The Dutch TV figure and football analyst Johan Derksen has in the program Today inside responded to the fuss that has arisen about the story he told on Tuesday in that program. In it he confessed to rape, although he now nuanced that. “I didn’t penetrate her with that candle.” The commotion barely touches him, he said Wednesday evening.
Derksen (73) has been under fire since Tuesday evening after statements about sexually transgressive behaviour. The football analyst confessed in Today inside that in the past he stuck a candle between the legs of a woman who was unconscious from the drink. “Putted in”, were the literal words of Derksen. “Technically, a prosecutor can interpret it as rape,” he added. “You would now be jailed for that.”
Because of those statements, it rained bad reactions on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, Derksen said he would not apologize for his “confession” – “I will not take back a word” – and on Wednesday evening he came in. Today inside back again. The Dutchman said that he believes that he has done nothing wrong with his story and that he merely wanted to sketch a context of the 1970s.

“In the context of what is happening now and how people are reacting to it, I wanted to say how things went in the 1970s. I think it’s a bit cowardly if I don’t put my hand in my own bosom myself, that I’m such a Johnny (De Mol, ed.) hanging from the highest tree.” Derksen responded yesterday with his story to the new accusation of transgressive behavior against Johnny de Mol.
Derksen also said that he thought he was vulnerable. “I have no reason to apologise.” Furthermore, the analyst mainly thinks that “the woke cancel municipality has been very active again today”. He announces that he will “explain” one more time in the broadcast what he did mean. “Otherwise I will bear all the consequences that come with it,” he adds.
“Not penetrated”
The TV character also had something to say about the story itself. “It was such a very large candle, on such a large pedestal. We put it between her legs. It was in the air.
