Guests flocked to the beach on the first day of the holiday, April 30

According to the Co To Special Zone Service Supply Center, in the coming days, the number of visitors here will continue to increase. The locality has developed a plan to welcome guests, control service business activities, list prices and food safety, and guide tourists to protect the marine environment.

Vung Tau city has also become the center of tourist attraction in the southern region. Under the hot sun of 34-36 degrees in the Southeast region, tens of thousands of people from Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh… flocked to the beach to cool off.

In the Back Beach area, the section from Thuy Van park to Flag Tower square, a “crowded” situation appeared early. Looking from above, along the embankment and in the water, it is full of people playing and swimming. Rescuers are constantly on duty to ensure the safety of visitors. According to preliminary statistics, the locality welcomed about 70,000 visitors on the first day of the holiday. The sudden increase in the number of visitors caused local congestion on Thuy Van street, with parking lots and accommodation services always operating at full capacity.

Downtown area Ha Long Old town is no less exciting when a large number of visitors from Hanoi and northern provinces flock to the area. Most hotels in this area have reported room fires. By the afternoon of April 30, Bai Chay Bridge had a long congestion as people flocked to watch Carnaval Ha Long 2026. It is estimated that the event had about 80,000 visitors.

Meanwhile, cruise ship activities are less exciting because the peak of international visitors has passed. A representative of Paradise Vietnam said that on April 30 and May 1, the cruise ship was full of passengers with two 4- and 7-hour cruises on the bay. However, overnight ships on the bay only reach about 70% capacity.

In Thanh Hoa, the beach Sam Son remains the top choice of customers. The line of cars is long and moves slowly on Ho Xuan Huong street adjacent to the beach. At around 5:00 p.m., the beach was crowded with people having fun, and the radio speakers looking for lost children rang continuously, according to Mr. Ngo Van Lan, a local resident.

Ha Giang crowded but not to the point of “falling out” like during Lunar New Year. Mr. Hoang An, representative of Ha Giang Travel Wind Company, said that domestic tourists this season prioritize sea destinations more. Tourist spots in Ha Giang such as lonely tree and Tham Ma slope are crowded with people taking photos but traffic is stable.

In Huethe accommodation system in the central area and along the Huong River reaches nearly 100% capacity. Many 3-5 star hotels are fully booked throughout the holiday, while the homestay and motel segment recorded a sharp increase in visitors.

Representatives of some hotels said that the room occupancy situation lasted for many days, from the Hung King’s Anniversary to the end of the April 30 – May 2 holiday. Century Hotel on Le Loi Street with 120 rooms recorded 100% occupancy in three days from April 30 to May 2. Similarly, Moonlight Hue Hotel also said it was fully booked for two consecutive holidays.

According to statistics from the Department of Tourism, during the 5-day holiday (April 29 – May 3), Hue is estimated to welcome about 610,000 visitors, an increase of 73.7% over the same period last year. Of which, international visitors reached about 164,000, an increase of 129%. Tourism revenue is estimated at 1,350 billion VND, an increase of 85%, average room occupancy is about 99%.

The festive atmosphere along with historical and cultural activities and heritage are the main factors attracting tourists. Attractions such as the Imperial Citadel, mausoleums of the Nguyen Kings, pagodas and walking streets along the Perfume River are always crowded from morning to night. Many heritage and culinary experience tours are booked early.

Da Nang chosen by many tourists, but tourist attractions are scattered so there is no overcrowding. According to Ms. Nguyen Nguyet Van Khanh, Director of Vietravel Marketing and Communications Department, the company’s groups going to Da Nang during the April 30 holiday all moved smoothly. The number of visitors is larger than that of Hung King’s death anniversary, but the attractions are still well served and have not affected the tourist experience.

Hoi An different than other spots when a large number of visitors flock to the old town from early afternoon, according to Mr. Truong Van Quy, owner of homestay Hoi An Old Town Residence. By around 4:00 p.m., the streets in the center of the old town were crowded with people. Most homestays and hotels around the old town are “sold out”. In Mang Denmany accommodation establishments announced that they were out of rooms before the holiday. The central area and around Dak Ke Lake are almost empty, visitors must book 2-3 weeks in advance, or even earlier, to have a suitable choice. Representative of S’he Mang Den said that on the evening of April 29, after 11 p.m., many customers still contacted to book a room, but the facility was full.

The high number of visitors causes many services to fall into overload. Along Pham Van Dong Street, restaurants and cafes are always crowded, cars are lined up. Ms. Dieu Ha, in Quang Ngai, said her family had to wait more than an hour to get a seat at a local restaurant.

“We finished visiting Pa Si waterfall around noon. We walked all the way and couldn’t find any restaurant that accepted customers. Finally, we had to return to the homestay to eat temporarily,” Ms. Ha said. According to tour guide Tam An, on the first day of the vacation, the routes leading down to Pa Si waterfall and the area around Dak Ke lake were crowded with tourists. Moving and finding places to eat are difficult.

Small islands in the southern region such as Phu Quy and Nam Du Rooms are also full on this occasion due to increased demand for vacations.

In Nha TrangVietravel representative said that the tourist groups departed early and traveled along National Highway 1A so there was no significant congestion, the weather was sunny and the tour schedule was on schedule; The number of tourists at the destination is also larger than the previous time but at a controllable level.

With Western routes such as Chau Doc – Can Tho and Dong Thap, traffic on the highway and some sections of National Highway 1A has more traffic than usual, causing slight congestion from time to time. However, groups can still move.

The weather in the Western region is sunny, with temperatures around 29-32 degrees Celsius, suitable for sightseeing programs if the group proactively arranges a reasonable time.

In Da Latmany tourists said that holiday traffic was smoother than expected.

“My family went early in the morning, through the central routes, which were quite clear, only slightly crowded around Xuan Huong Lake, but the cars still moved continuously, without having to wait long,” said Mr. Minh Tuan, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.

Tour guide Truc Lam said the number of visitors at Da Lat station, Truc Lam Zen Monastery and Tuyen Lam Lake was not crowded compared to previous years. Lam explained that the temporary closure of Lien Khuong Airport is one of the reasons why the number of visitors to the city this holiday season is more modest than the same period last year.

At the pearl island Phu Quoctour guide Truong Phu Quoc said the weather during the day was quite pleasant thanks to showers in the morning. The number of tourists recorded is moderate, not too crowded; Sightseeing, entertainment and experience activities at the destination are still taking place stably, with no overcrowding recorded.
