Now, it seems that there is a European country that has taken its place and is publicly and fully supporting us – the Czech Republic. So, last week The Czech Foreign Minister stated that his country will provide Israel with critical political assistance in the European Union and that they will oppose sanctions against us.
This statement joins the statement of Barbara Andalova, from the Ministry of Tourism of the Czech Republic, who said recently: “At a time when Israelis need peace, calm and emotional resilience more than ever, the country offers the exact formula: security and stability, world-class spa and health culture and perfect green landscapes for families and couples. We invite Israeli travelers to come, breathe and regain energy.”
These statements join overwhelming support for Israel since October 7. When over the years the Czech Republic made sure to constantly mention that Israeli tourists are very welcome in the country. Now, it seems that the Czechs are even going a step further and reiterating their unqualified support.
As a reminder, in the last year we also accompanied Bibiana Mikhrinova, a 46-year-old resident of Prague, who runs the “BB Gelato” ice cream parlor located in the city center and became well-known thanks to her support for Israel, the return of abductees at the time, and the IDF’s operations.
Since the fighting in the Gaza Strip began, Bibiana made sure to light a candle in the ice cream parlor every day for the abductees who were held captive by Hamas. “When I lived in Israel I remember that every day on the radio they would play a song for Ron Arad, so I decided that every day I would light a candle for the Shabbat of the abductees along with playing a song and prayers for them.”
