Omri, a resident of Los Angeles, came to the United States after his military service, began working on carts, and slowly connected with the locals and built his career by opening a successful construction company. “He did everything with ten fingers, he always smiled at everyone and with a light in his face,” Sapir, mournfully eulogizes him. “Omari was the heart and head of the family, he was everything. Smart, beautiful, successful, we were always proud of him everywhere. Participated in Iron Man and triathlons in Europe, loved life and was always looking for something to do. We lived around his visits to Israel, when he came to visit Israel no one worked, everyone took time off to be with him. Where Omri is, everyone is, and happy.”

Tobit, Omari’s cousin, testifies that in every situation and group of people, Omari was the leader. “He was a sort of mentor for everyone. He was consulted, and helped everyone with what was needed. A person of kindness, celebrated life, loved everyone, and only wanted to devour the world. For him, only being together with friends, family, and celebrating and enjoying, taking advantage of every moment.”

“Despite the distance from the US, Omri and I used to talk every day,” says Mor Magidish, his cousin. “At one point I moved to the US for two years and lived and lived with Omri in Los Angeles, it was an amazing time. He was the eldest cousin of the family, one who does good to everyone and helps and takes care of the environment, including friends, family, and strangers. Anyone who came to Los Angeles and Omari would know about him, he would take care of everything he needed, and help everyone”.

He continues: “He has lovely children and an amazing wife who are now left alone, our hearts are broken. His little brother called me and shouted ‘Omari is dead, Omri is dead’, I didn’t understand what I was hearing and I didn’t want to understand it. My heart just crashed in those moments, and I was terribly worried about my brother who was driving and I just wanted him to get to his mother safely with all the turmoil of emotions while driving. I also knew Yanir, they were very good friends, like brothers. He was a good person, the tragedy Here it is double and painful.”
