Install AI cameras to warn swimmers entering dangerous areas at Cua Lo beach

The camera cluster is installed on a 20 m high pole, capable of wide observation, warning swimmers entering dangerous areas, crowded gatherings and unusual situations.

The long-range camera cluster was installed on August 11 at Binh Minh Square, Cua Lo beach resort. The system includes an optical camera and a thermal camera, capable of rotating 360 degrees, magnifying images 56 times, observing in low light conditions, identifying objects at a distance of up to 800 m and operating 24/7.

The system focuses on two main scenarios: detecting tourists swimming in prohibited and dangerous areas to warn management staff and rescue forces, and identifying crowds of people with signs of aggression or fighting.

In addition to recording, the camera also integrates image analysis features such as detecting exceeding the limit line, entering or leaving the established area, helping to expand the field of view of management forces, especially at times when the beach is crowded. Through the images obtained, officers can early detect unusual situations to check, remind or handle.

Besides ensuring safety for swimmers, the system is expected to support monitoring of behaviors affecting the landscape, order and environment such as littering and operating water motorbikes improperly.

Cua Lo Beach is more than 10 km from the center of Vinh City (old) and more than 300 km from Hanoi. It is a famous destination in the Central region, welcoming millions of domestic and foreign tourists every summer.

The large number of tourists and some areas with reefs, strong currents, and deep water points make monitoring, warning, and rescuing people in distress at sea always a priority.
