Cairo International Airport achieves the highest operating rates on Eid al-Fitr

The Ministry of Civil Aviation in Egypt announced that Cairo International Airport recorded the highest rate of operation on Saturday, transporting 94,000 passengers on 647 flights, while the Ministry denied, on Sunday morning, reports of an emergency closure of Egyptian airspace.

The Ministry said, in a statement on Saturday night: Cairo International Airport witnessed a noticeable recovery in travel and arrival traffic during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, as the total number of flights reached 3,636 flights, which were operated during the period from 9 to 14 April, transporting 500,000 passengers. Between arrival and travel.

She added that Cairo Airport recorded the highest rate of flight operations and travel and arrival traffic on Saturday, which is the highest rate during peak times that the airport has witnessed in the current period.

The Ministry confirmed that the airport administration has harnessed all its capabilities, in accordance with an integrated action plan developed by the Ministry in cooperation and coordination with all competent authorities, to deal with the numbers of passengers and air traffic to receive Umrah pilgrims and visitors to Egypt, during holidays and peak times, and in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Civil Aviation to work in full swing. Providing all facilities to all travelers.

She added that all aspects of support and services were provided to the guests of God upon their return from the Holy Lands, and all obstacles were overcome for them.

In this context, the passenger terminals were provided with work teams equipped 24 hours a day to provide all necessary facilities to all passengers to ensure the smooth flow of movement within the travel and arrival halls, thus achieving a smoother and smoother travel experience for them through Egyptian airports.

In a related development, the Cabinet Media Center and the Ministry of Civil Aviation denied what was raised about the emergency closure of Egyptian airspace.

The Ministry said: No decisions have been issued in this regard by any official body, stressing that Egyptian airspace, as well as air traffic, are operating normally without interruption, with the various Egyptian airports continuing to operate all flights on a regular basis, according to operating schedules. Daily flights, except for flights to some countries as a result of their airspace being closed to air traffic.

The Ministry called on citizens not to be led by such false news, but to obtain information from reliable sources.

She called on all media outlets and social media users to ensure accuracy and objectivity in publishing news, and to communicate with the relevant authorities to confirm before publishing information that is not based on any facts and leads to creating confusion among citizens.
