On highway 90, about half an hour from the center of Eilat, lies the Chai Bar Yatbata nature reserve – a reserve that provides its visitors with a family experience close to the living world in an oasis. The reserve works a lot to restore the wild animals that have disappeared from the landscapes of our country, and by visiting it you can see up close how this happens.
When you arrive you will be able to enjoy a drive inside the reserve where you will notice the animals up close such as rams, ostriches, birds of prey and deer. It is important to emphasize that the route is intended for vehicles and you should not get off the vehicle at any part. In addition, the reserve screens a video for visitors about the establishment of the reserve and its extensive activities. If you want to end your day in the reserve, there is an overnight parking lot for visitors – for which tickets must be booked in advance.

Masib Nature Reserve – Eilat Mountains
The Nature Reserve of the Eilat Mountains is definitely a great option for those who like to travel and get to know nature up close through their feet. To the west of the city of Eilat, about 15 minutes from it, lies a huge nature reserve that combines several hiking trails. We have compiled some of them:
Black Mall
A family trip along with walking in a beautiful and long canyon, surfing in dry waterfalls, rocks in many colors and shapes, a spectacular view of the Eilat and Adom mountains. The route is about 4 km and is circular.
You start the route after the green marking that takes you straight into a huge and colorful mall. All around you will notice an endless amount of rocks, notice how their shape and color are constantly changing. After a few more minutes you will reach a two-meter rock step that you can easily climb with pegs. Keep walking following the green marking. Notice how the high rock walls change color from black and red to bright colors of pink. After a few more minutes of walking you will reach the intersection, note that you are turning right to the red sign, during the ascent you will be presented with a breathtaking view of the Adom Mountains, Eilat Bay. Later on you will come to a descent, after it this time turn right to the black color together with the Israel Trail, the walk here is in a beautiful and especially red open space.
Amram’s columns
For those of you who want to continue the trip and witness another magical place, you can return to the vehicle and drive the way you came until the split with the blue marking. Turn following the sign pointing in the direction of Amram’s pillars. At the beginning you will notice a black marked path about half a kilometer long leading to the Amram Pillars – upright and impressive sandstone pillars standing at the base of the Amram Valley cliff, at the head of the Amram Stream.
Walking towards the path with black markings will provide you with a short and beautiful family route. It is a walk of up to about 10 minutes along which you can enjoy amazing and extremely colorful views.
After about 10 minutes you will reach the pillars, don’t forget to take some pictures and also slide on the rocks, the place is also perfect for a coffee break and a light sandwich.
Hadum Mall
The next place will take you the “farthest” from Eilat, in the direction of Arizona. The silence of the desert, the red colors, the endless canyons that look like a masterpiece and of course the mesmerizing wilderness are all you need. You have 2 possible routes:
- The first track He is only for me the mall. After you have parked the car, you walk towards the green marking that will take you straight into the mall. The more you progress along the route, the more you will notice the changing colors, just for that it’s worth coming. Later you will go down three dry waterfalls with the help of pegs.
- The second track It is longer and incorporates Nahal Shani in it. From the end of the first canyon route, follow the green marking to Nahal Shani until you reach a junction of paths, at this junction turn right towards the west after the black marking. Ahead of you is a moderate ascent next to beautiful cliffs. Later you will meet a waterfall, we will continue to climb next to it carefully until we reach a section of rock steps. Finally You must turn on the red path towards the parking lot back.
Coral Beach Reserve
Welcome to one of the most beautiful marine reserves in the world – the Coral Coast Reserve. After getting to know the mountains of Eilat, it’s time to get to the city itself and rest next to one of its most beautiful beaches.
The coral reef in Eilat is the only one in our small country that has a complete and wonderful world of corals and other fish and marine animals. The reserve allows easy access to the reef and other pleasant beach services such as showers, toilets, beach beds, shade sheds and a shop.
For the divers among you, this is the place to dive and get to know the colorful underwater world as closely as possible.
