FC Barcelona player Lamine Yamal promised this Wednesday that the Blaugrana team will take the Champions League trophy to Barcelona, despite being eliminated this Tuesday in the quarterfinals against Atlético de Madrid, and added that “it was not enough” to give everything in the second leg victory (1-2) at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
“We are Barça and we will be back where we should be. My parents taught me that a man’s word always comes true… And we will bring it to Barcelona,” he promised in a post on his personal account on the social network Instagram.
The ’10’ assured that in the 1-2 they gave “everything” to try to turn around the 0-2 in the first leg at the Spotify Camp Nou. “We gave everything, but it was not enough. This is only part of the path: to get to the top we have to climb, and we know that it will not be easy nor will they make it easy for us. But giving up is not an option,” he said.
“We have plenty of reasons to be excited, and we are going to go after them with everything. Every mistake is a lesson, and do not doubt that we will learn from each one,” said the 18-year-old Spanish international winger.
After reaching the semifinals in the last edition, when they lost against Inter Milan in the first campaign with Hansi Flick on the bench, in this 2025/26 season the ‘culers’ have reached the quarterfinals, in which they have stumbled against Atlético de Madrid.
