Turkey has launched tiny unmanned craft for security purposes

According to the company’s publications, the “apron” was developed in a unique modular configuration that includes a 3.8 meter long trunk. Its main strategic advantage lies in its exceptional mobility: it is able to fit completely into a standard cargo container and even be dropped from the air using the A400M military transport plane.

The platform is capable of carrying 12 different armament and equipment configurations, from launching swarms of drones underwater, through deploying smart mines, to firing heavy torpedoes, anti-ship missiles and even surface-to-air missiles to hit aerial targets.

Alongside this vessel, DATUM presents the “Tranka” commando submarine, intended for Turkey’s elite naval unit. The submarine secretly carries six commando fighters to a range of about 650 km, and is equipped with torpedo tubes and the ability to strike. At the same time, the “Kirlangich” submarine was developed, which is specifically designed for seabed warfare, including cutting underwater cables and damaging strategic infrastructure. The company’s statement cited the sabotage of the “Nord Stream” gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea in 2022 as proof for the importance of this arena.

The DATUM company emphasizes that the mass production capacity of these tools is more reminiscent of the drone industry than traditional shipbuilding, and enables serial production even in underground facilities far from the coast. According to the company, various countries in the European Union are already showing great interest in purchasing the latest tools.
