Taxi company buys 1,500 VinFast electric cars

Huong Giang Taxi Transport Cooperative and GSM Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company announced strategic cooperation, through signing a new purchase of 1,500 VinFast electric cars, will convert all internal combustion engine vehicles to pure electric vehicles. The taxi company also aims to expand operations in Bac Ninh province.

Signing to buy 1,500 new vehicles will help Huong Giang Taxi increase its total scale to more than 2,000 vehicles, becoming one of Green SM’s five largest partners in Vietnam. In particular, Green SM will accompany this taxi company in the role of consulting, operating support, ensuring operational efficiency and stability for large-scale vehicle fleets when operating.

The two sides said they will deploy a rights cooperation model, creating conditions for drivers to gradually access and own vehicles in operation, aiming to increase cohesion and initiative for drivers in business activities.

The increase in large-scale investment and expansion of cooperation between these two businesses shows the shifting trend of the passenger transport industry towards green trends, while also proving the practical effectiveness of the pure electric taxi operating model. In addition to providing suitable vehicle lines, Green SM also supports partners with technology platforms, restructuring, and business model expansion.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Huong Giang Taxi Transport Cooperative, said that investing in a pure electric vehicle fleet is a strategic step, helping businesses proactively operate, increase competitiveness and adapt to the green transformation trend of the transportation market. “Green SM cooperation will help us participate more deeply in the green mobility ecosystem, bringing optimal value to society,” she said.

Mr. Tran Le Phuong, Deputy General Director of GSM Global, said that the Huong Giang Taxi cooperation shows that the pure electric vehicle transport model is ready to be deployed on a large scale, with many flexible forms. “Green SM will accompany partners during the transformation process, ensuring operational efficiency and expanding the green, sustainable ecosystem,” he said.

Huong Giang Taxi pioneered the use of VinFast electric cars from 2024, operating on the Green SM platform in Bac Giang province (formerly). After more than 2 years of implementation, this business aims to convert the entire vehicle fleet to pure electric, expanding its operating area throughout Bac Ninh province (new). In addition to the above businesses, Green SM is accompanying nearly 100 transportation businesses and 11 bus units nationwide in the process of converting to electric vehicles.
