The employment service establishes a research center: preparing for the labor market in the age of AI

In view of the speed of developments, there is a real difficulty among research bodies to accurately assess the extent of the damage in the various industries, which requires constant monitoring and follow-up in order to adjust the economy – a move that has not yet been fully formulated in Israel or in the world.

Against this background, the Employment Service announces this morning (Thursday) the establishment of MBT; Center for Intelligence in Employment. A unique national center of its kind in Israel for researching the effects of artificial intelligence on the labor market.

The purpose of the center, which is currently manning its ranks, is to allow Israel to make real-time adjustments to the changing demands of the labor market in the age of artificial intelligence and to serve as a synchronizing platform between the constantly changing needs of the market and the government and policy makers; the employers and with an emphasis on the high-tech industry; and between the academy and the training bodies.

“Our responsibility is not to wait, but to leverage the change into an opportunity. This is precisely the purpose of Mbat – to move from reactivity to a data-based initiative. The center, which is in the process of recruiting personnel and will begin its activities in the coming months, will know how to connect data, research and technology in real time in order to formulate work plans, trainings and policy recommendations based on data.”
