Michael Olise voted Bundesliga player of the year in his second season at Bayern Munich

Currently, only two Big 5 Championships have elected their best player: France and Germany. Both leagues rewarded a Tricolore. After Ousmane Dembélé, Michael Olise was crowned best footballer of the year in his domestic Championship. The attacking midfielder of the France team received his individual trophy on the lawn of the Allianz Arena, after the last meeting of the season won by Bayern Munich against Cologne (5-1).

It’s hard not to point out Olise. The latter is both the 5th top scorer in the Bundesliga – tied with his partner Luis Diaz – and the most prolific passer. The 24-year-old right winger collected some 15 goals and 19 assists during this exercise.

Rookie of the year in 2025

He actively contributed to making Bayern the best attack of the century over a season among the five major Championships. The Bavarians scored 122 times from the 1st to the 34th day of “Buli”. A performance never achieved since Torino and its 125 goals in 40 matches in 1948, according to the X “Stats Foot” account.

Last year, the former Crystal Palace player had already received the “Rookie of the Season” trophy, a trophy which recognizes the best player playing his first season in the Bundesliga. The French international (15 caps, 4 goals) moves up a notch to succeed his attacking partner Harry Kane. Olise was chosen by a vote combining the voices of supporters, clubs and a panel of experts. Earlier this week, he voted best French player abroad during the UNFP trophies.
