X drastically reduces daily posts for non-paying users

The social platform X has introduced a new and stringent restriction to encourage subscription to its paid plans. As reported by numerous users on Reddit and on the application itself, the X Help Center has quietly updated its guidelines, reducing the maximum limit for unverified accounts to just 50 original posts and 200 replies per day. This is a clear cut from the previous fixed threshold, which allowed up to 2,400 daily updates. Profiles affected by the limitation will be notified via a specific error message as soon as they reach the new cap.

The initiative is part of the company’s broader strategy aimed at combating the proliferation of bots and spam profiles, an objective already pursued last October with the launch of the functionality linked to details on the geographical origin of accounts. However, the drastic measure has raised strong discontent among communities of long-standing users, many of whom have expressed their intention to abandon the social network permanently. To maintain unlimited publishing features, the platform is actually pushing for the transition to paid X Premium plans.
