The development that makes it possible to maintain the health of edible fish without endangering farmers

A new start-up called Aqua Sense, from the innovation center “Sinovation Eilat” (SeaNovation), allows fish farmers to weigh, count and track the fish in ponds remotely, using a unique and innovative automation system.

The technology at the base of the project is based on an electric field instead of eyes: while normal camera systems “go blind” in murky water, Aqua Sense’s system does not need to see anything. It produces a smart electric field that detects every fish that passes by, measures its length and volume with maximum accuracy, and streams data in real time – all remotely and completely automatically.

The SeaNovation innovation center in Eilat acts as a central hub for the promotion of marine technologies (Blue Tech) and climate innovation in the desert space. The center focuses on developing an ecosystem that combines applied research, entrepreneurship and industry in areas such as aquaculture, marine biotechnology, renewable energy and smart management of marine resources. Through strategic collaborations, acceleration programs for start-ups and professional networking events, SeaNovation helps technological ventures move from the idea phase to operational pilots, while leveraging the unique advantages of the Eilat Bay and Arava region.
