Trump rages about concert cancellation: “We don’t want talentless singers”

After some artists have already canceled on their own, US President Donald Trump The entire concert series for the 250th anniversary of the USA has now been canceled.

“We don’t want talentless singers lulling you to sleep with their high salaries – we’ve told them all to stay home,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Instead, the president announced “the largest live rally ever” on the eve of the anniversary celebrations in the US capital Washington, scheduled between June 25 and July 10.

“All we want is you, me, a few speakers and the greatest music ever played – the same music you’ve been listening to for years!” Trump continued. However, according to the president, country singer Lee Greenwood, tenor Christopher Macchio and US Navy and Army bands will continue to perform.

Trump would rather be himself: “the number one attraction” in the world

The concert series was organized by a self-described non-profit organization that is dedicated to the anniversary celebrations in Washington – but these themselves go back to a call by Donald Trump.

Several artists canceled their participation, including The Commodores, Poison frontman Bret Michaels and Fabrice “Fab” Morvan from the former pop duo Milli Vanilli. Many justified their withdrawal by saying that the event was more political than originally portrayed.

In a previous post, Trump had already railed against the musicians and called for a complete cancellation of the anniversary concert series. He would rather bring “the number one attraction in the world” onto the stage with a big speech: himself. Only great patriots are invited to this “wild and beautiful celebration of America.”
