Iran blames the US for violations of the ceasefire and links Israel’s actions to Washington

The Government of Iran has stressed this Monday that the United States is responsible for the violations of the ceasefire agreement agreed in April and has argued that Israel’s actions cannot be separated from Washington: “No one in our region believes that Israel’s actions do not have coordination with the United States.”

“The attack on our southern regions and the attack on Lebanon (by Israel) are the direct responsibility of the United States, and they must be held accountable for these crimes,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei, following the exchange of attacks in recent hours.

Thus, he stressed that “the responsibility of the United States in the aggression by the Zionist regime is clear, and the consequences of the increase in tensions are also the responsibility of the United States”, while pointing to “coordination” at a military and political level between both countries.

“Despite the claims of the United States, we know that they are cooperating with Tel Aviv in the fields of Intelligence and defense,” argued Baqaei, who insisted that Iran’s “defensive measures” “will continue as long as national interests and security deem it necessary.”

In this sense, he emphasized that “the actions of the Zionist regime in the region cannot be separated from US policies”, before confirming that the exchange of messages with the United States, mediated by Pakistan, continues “in an atmosphere of intense suspicion”, as reported by the Iranian public television channel, IRIB.

“If the existential policy of the negotiations is that they are distorted by the Zionist regime and the United States, the diplomatic process will be affected,” warned Baqaei, who has argued that Israel “tries with all its powers and negative capabilities to destroy diplomacy.”

The spokesman for Iranian diplomacy has therefore added that the attacks launched on Sunday against Israel in response to its latest bombing against the Lebanese capital, Beirut, were a “defensive” measure and has pointed out that Tehran “has so far shown great restraint, despite all the violations of the ceasefire.”

For this reason, he has stressed that the security forces and the Government of Iran “are prepared to face any situation”, while he has recommended that the countries in the region “not feed the enemy” and has disassociated Iranian forces from an attack against a refinery in Saudi Arabia.

“The Iranian Armed Forces accept responsibility for any operation they carry out. Likewise, we have warned against false flag operations,” he explained, after an alert from the Saudi authorities about an attack against an air base in Al Jarj, without there being an official statement from Riyadh on the matter.
