New cooperation agreement: Bundeswehr youth officers can come to schools

The agreement forms a new, binding basis for cooperation that has existed for many years, the ministry said. Youth officers should therefore come as people to talk to – and, for example, make a contribution to the discussion about German foreign and security policy, global crisis management and national and European security interests.

Colonel: It’s more important than ever to talk about security policy

They are bound to the principles of the so-called Beutelsbach Consensus, such as the ban on overpowering, which prohibits taking students by surprise in the interests of desired opinions.

“I am convinced that today it is even more important than ever to look at security policy developments from different perspectives,” said Colonel Nikolas Scholtka, commander of the Brandenburg State Command. Whether the offer is accepted remains the responsibility of the respective schools.
