Surprise melons in Gemona for the Alpine rally

Giorgia Meloni has arrived in Gemona del Friuli (Udine) for the national gathering of the Black Feathers. The Prime Minister, who arrived as a surprise, walked a long stretch of the road, greeted with applause and handshakes from the crowd behind the barriers along the route. Next to her, the Minister for Relations with Parliament, Luca Ciriani, was present.

The regional councilor for Infrastructure, Cristina Amirante, and the mayor of Gemona, Roberto Revelant, also took part in the start of the Triveneto Alpini Gathering.

The historical link with Friuli fifty years after the earthquake

“This is a moment of profound significance for Gemona, for Friuli and for the entire regional community. The participation of thousands of Alpini, who came not only from Triveneto but also from other parts of Italy, fills us with pride”, said theregional councilor for Finance Barbara Zillirepresenting governor Fedriga.

Zilli underlined that the return of the Black Feathers, on the occasion of fiftieth anniversary of the 1976 earthquake“strengthens the historic and indissoluble bond with Friuli Venezia Giulia”.

The role of the Black Feathers in the reconstruction

“It was they – added the councilor – who provided a fundamental support in the dramatic phases emergency and reconstruction. Today, half a century later, they can proudly note the results of the rebirth of this territory”.

Zilli then reiterated that “the Region welcomes this event with great enthusiasm and participation. My warmest wishes for a good Gathering go to all those present”.
