Two telecommunication codes and numbers are up for auction

According to the announcement of the Department of Telecommunications – Ministry of Science and Technology, each telecommunication code and number has a starting price of 250 million VND. The auctions are held online on the website of Vietnam Partnership Auction Company (VPA), according to the bidding method, with a price step of 5 million VND.

Time to receive registration applications is from June 29 to July 6. Participating units must deposit 50 million VND in advance. The auction will take place on July 9, in which number 5599 will be auctioned from 8:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., and number 9559 will be auctioned from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

This is the third auction of telecommunications codes and numbers held this year. In the previous two rounds, short telecommunication codes and numbers all received attention from the market.

In January, the two numbers 1555 and 1500 were priced at 1.02 billion VND, while the numbers 1299 and 1558 both reached one billion VND. In April, the Telecommunications Department continued to successfully auction four telecommunication codes and numbers including 1515, 5151, 6789 and 9999 with a starting price of hundreds of millions of dong.

At the auction held in January, Deputy Director of the Department of Telecommunications Tran Duy Hai said that telecommunications service codes and numbers were previously allocated in a direct form. The auction helps increase revenue for the budget and ensures transparency.
