Russia has closed some border checkpoints on the border with Finland, Estonia and Latvia

The Russian government announced the closure of railway border crossings on the border with Finland, Estonia and Latvia from June 1.

The government decision states that the suspension is temporary and concerns the movement of persons, vehicles, goods and cargo.

On the Russian-Finnish section of the border, the following checkpoints are closed: Vyborg (Leningrad region), Vyartsilya and Lyuttya (Karelia), St. Petersburg-Finlyandsky, Svetogorsk (Leningrad region). In the Estonian direction – Pechory-Pskovskie (Pskov region). In Latvian – Pytalovo (Pskov region).

The Russian Foreign Ministry has been instructed to send notifications about this decision from Moscow to the authorities of Finland, Estonia and Latvia.
