Lavrov and Rubio are going to meet tomorrow

“The meeting is not possible, but already agreed upon. Yesterday, during the reception, we had a short conversation with Marco Rubio, we confirmed that it will take place tomorrow, in the first half of the day,” Lavrov said at the press conference following the results of the ministerial session of the Association of Russia-Southeast Asian States in Manila.

The US Secretary of State is also in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, and he also participated in the ministerial session of the US-Southeast Asian States Association and gave a speech there.

The Russian Foreign Minister expressed confidence that the meeting with his American counterpart will be useful.

Lavrov noted that during the meeting, he will ask the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio what the current position of the United States is regarding the settlement of the Ukraine issue.

“As for President Trump’s predictions about the imminence of settlement, I will ask Marco Rubio about it tomorrow. What’s more, he was quite ambiguous in commenting on the results of the meeting in Anchorage. In any case, the meeting will be useful. it is better to ask questions directly and get an answer,” Lavrov said.
