Iranian authorities urge the population to reduce electricity consumption

Government spokeswoman Fatima Mohajerani said that since the start of the war with the United States and Israel, Iran has been losing about 230 million cubic meters of gas per day. According to her, the reduction in production leads to a decrease in fuel supplies to power plants and processing plants.

The head of the energy commission of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Arash Najafi, does not rule out that in winter the government will have to stop gas supplies to some villages and supply residents with liquid fuel.

Earlier, the Energy Department urged residents to limit the use of air conditioners to stabilize power supplies in southern areas where temperatures exceeded 50 degrees.
