Legge elettorale, raggiunta l'intesa nel centrodestra sulle modifiche

The center-right has achieved the agreement on the changes to be made to the electoral law, on the occasion of the passage of the reform in the Senate.

How the electoral law will work

According to what is learned, preferences will be introduced and it will be mandatory to respect gender alternation with the proportion of 60 and 40% in the leaders. Instead it would stay the obligation of double candidacy as head of the list. That is, in the Senate the rule, introduced in the Chamber with the amendment signed by Bignami, should not be modified, according to which those who run on the list for the prize have the obligation to run as leaders in the multi-member constituencies. If the position at the top of the list is already ‘occupied’, he will be a candidate in the immediately following positions.

Unlike what happened in the Chamber, where the amendment on preferences – then rejected by the Chamber with a secret vote – had been signed only by FdI, Noi Moderati and Udc, in the Senate – it is explained – the center-right will present a unitary amendment, therefore with the signatures of all the parties of the coalition.
