Vitor Roque is speculated to join a European club and shakes up the market

The 21-year-old player is still looking for better rhythm in the game after a long recovery from an injury to his left ankle and was on the bench of the team led by coach Abel Ferreira in the São Paulo club’s last three games, entering the duels against Atlético-MG and Vitória, in the Brasileirão, and Fortaleza, in the Copa do Brasil.

Now, according to reports in the Turkish press, Tigrinho would be on the radar of Galatasaray, one of the country’s main clubs. However, interest would still be at a very early stage. According to information from the journalist Ertan Süzgün, the Brazilian is one of the options for the Istanbul club, but there has still been no contact with Palmeiras.

Galatasaray is monitoring the market in search of a new center forward as it could soon lose Nigerian Vicor Oshimhen. Recently, the African striker was offered to Atlético de Madrid, from Spain, but negotiations did not progress.

Vitor Roque’s contract with Palmeiras runs until the end of 2029 and a transfer at this time is highly unlikely. After the duel against Fortaleza, Abel Ferreira commented on the athlete’s situation.

“Vitor Roque hasn’t played for a long time. We’re going to give him a little time to get back to what he once showed us. [Flaco] López is the same thing. Now, we can’t deny that at the start of the second half of the year, Maurício and Sosa have performed spectacularly”, he explained, at a press conference.

The Portuguese is referring to midfielder Maurício and striker Ramón Sosa, who played in the last World Cup for Paraguay and returned to Palestra Itália with a bang. The midfielder has four goals in four games since the resumption of competition, while the striker has two goals and two assists in the same period.

According to the specialized portal Transfermarkt, Vitor Roque is currently valued at 38 million euros, around R$224 million at the current price. In March 2025, Palmeiras spent 25.5 million euros to sign the player from Barcelona, ​​where he was unable to establish himself.

Previously, the player revealed by Cruzeiro had achieved prominence in Brazilian football wearing the Athletico shirt. In 2023, wearing the red and black shirt, Vitor Roque scored 21 goals and distributed seven assists in 45 matches. In January 2024, the Spanish club spent around 30 million euros to find the goalscorer permanently.

There were only 16 games with the European giant’s shirt, with two goals. Without space, Tigrinho ended up on loan to Betis, also from Spain, the following season, where he scored seven goals in 33 games. Already at Palmeiras, the striker found his best performance again in 2025.

Last season, Vitor Roque scored 20 goals in 56 matches. In the current season, there are six balls in the net and one assist in 21 appearances.
