Stocks today August 7: State-owned enterprise stocks are floating

The group of state-owned enterprise stocks attracted cash flow, becoming the main driving force of VN-Index in a rising but divided stock session.

Selling pressure still appears on the market based on inertia from the previous 2 falling sessions. However, after 10 a.m., stocks reversed following the recovery trend of large-cap stocks. The general index was pulled above the 1,770 point level before dropping close to lunch break.

In the afternoon, the market continued to climb higher again. However, selling pressure suddenly increased during the ATC session, causing the index to shake at the end of the session. VN-Index closed at 1,768 points, an improvement of more than 3 points compared to yesterday.

On the entire HoSE floor, there were 155 stocks that increased, with a low difference compared to 137 stocks that decreased. This shows that the level of consensus in the market is not high and cash flows are deeply differentiated.

Today’s support mainly comes from state-owned enterprises. Most of the stocks contributing the most points to VN-Index belong to this group, such as GAS, CTG, BID, GVR, VNM, VCB, BSR. Among them, GAS and BSR were dyed purple, while VNM also reached its ceiling price at times.

In addition, many other stocks with state capital also performed very positively. Codes such as BCM, SZC, ACC, L10, SC5, VSI, SRC all rose to the ceiling early and kept their prices until the end of the session.

Shares of state-owned enterprises fluctuated after the Government issued Decision 40/2026 related to equitization and divestment activities of this group. According to BIDV Securities (BSC), the operator has given more autonomy to the owner’s representative agency and changed the measurement from “administrative compliance” to “financial efficiency”, allowing capital representatives and owners to proactively cut losses and promptly withdraw capital according to the market instead of having to report to many levels leading to greater risk of capital loss.

“These are positive signals for equitization and divestment activities of state-owned enterprises in the upcoming period,” BSC stated.

On the contrary, the main pressure group on VN-Index is the Vin “family” codes. VIC today decreased 1.7% to 215,000 VND, while VHM decreased 5.3% to 73,000 VND. Both caused the overall index to lose about 10 points.

HoSE liquidity improved 20% compared to yesterday. Total transaction value recorded at more than 18,100 billion VND.

Foreign investors continued to net sell but the value was only about 59 billion VND. Discharge pressure focuses on VHM, TCB, VPB and VIC. Meanwhile, DMX – a rookie stock just listed on HoSE – was net bought for nearly 682 billion VND, helping to balance the selling force.

For the whole week, stocks increased more than 32 points, equivalent to an increase of 1.86%. This is the second consecutive week that the market’s score improved. However, liquidity continues to remain low, causing analyst groups to believe that the market is lacking support from large cash flows, making the uptrend somewhat less sustainable.

Some people say managing time in food service is mostly about speeding up kitchen prep, but others think choosing the right wholesale food supplier can save a lot more time overall. I recently started overseeing orders for a small café, and I’m struggling to keep up with inventory and deliveries while also focusing on running day-to-day operations. Has anyone found ways to reduce the time spent coordinating with multiple suppliers or managing inconsistent deliveries? What features should I look for in a wholesale supplier that could genuinely help with saving time and streamlining my ordering process? I’m hoping for tips from those who have successfully balanced quality and efficiency when working with suppliers. on GeniusU
