The restrained Chanel is now colorful and joyful – Matthieu Blazy renewed the runaway fashion house

It was Chanel’s spring 2027 show, one of the most anticipated of Paris Fashion Week. With its long history, Chanel rightly has the honor of organizing the last show of fashion week.

At the same time, the autumn fashion week show season ended in a rather atypical way: Chanel, known as a conservative, organized a party.

Monday’s show proved that Blazy is now one of the most interesting figures in the fashion world.

Chanel is coveted again

The time of the so-called quiet luxury, i.e. quiet, gestureless luxury, is dictated by Blazy’s cheerful and bright-toned Chanel receding.

One indication of the presence of traditions is the fact that Blazy has not changed the established exhibition venue since 2005, i.e. the Grand Palais, the green-framed exhibition hall completed for the 1900 World Exhibition.

The new shape of tweed

In part next spring’s clothes have utilized a special material innovation.

Blazy has reinvented Chanel’s trademark, recognizable tweed fabric. As a result of long development, a new, stretchy, almost sportswear-type fabric was created for Chanel, which, however, when viewed from a distance, looks mistakenly like Chanel tweed.

Inventing a new sporty fabric is a testament to Blazy’s dynamic approach to renewing Chanel.

Blazy’s innovations hardly stop there.

Channeln’s founder Coco Chanel you might not believe this, but Blazy played at Monday’s show Britney Spears met Gimme More.

Blazy’s list shocked the audience of the show and made many admire the music selections on social media as well. Gimme Moren in addition, the band A-ha was heard at the show Take on Me.

The party atmosphere of the show was also visible in the audience: the Actors, among others, were rejoicing in the front row Nicole Kidman and Pedro Pascal and a singer Dua Lipa. Lipa was of course dressed in Blazy’s colorful and flowing Chanel.

According to Blazy, the 95 paper birds hanging from the ceiling of the showroom were a reference to how fashion pioneer Chanel took off during her career, free as a bird.

The show has inspired Blazy by The growth of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel from girl to woman. In addition to playful birds, the impressive staging included pictures from different stages of Chanel’s life.

In the collection, delicate and girlish tutus gradually turned into adult, working woman’s clothes, Blazy’s resized Chanel jackets and glittering party dresses.

Blazy’s clothes are designed for today’s multidimensional Chanel woman.

In addition, Blazy’s collection had art historical references, the most recognizable of which was the tulle dress that appeared on the catwalk. The dress is a reference to the French Edgar Degas’n to the well-known ballerina sculpture.

Coco Chanel’s own handbag

The show opened and closed model Dyanira Hurbuscher carried a Chanel classic worn by Coco Chanel herself, the methodically named 2.55 handbag.

Created in 1955, the 2.55 was Chanel’s first innovative bag in its time. It is equipped with an extendable strap.
