Irish budget airline Ryanair published new check-in and baggage rules on April 23. The changes will come into force on November 10, 2026, reports the British newspaper The Mirror.
According to the message, from this date, check-in and baggage drop-off services will close not 40 minutes before departure, but an hour. By this time, 95% of Ryanair’s airports will have self-service stations where passengers can carry out these activities themselves.
“The new measure will give passengers more time to undergo passport and security checks, reducing the already very low number of passengers missing their flights due to queues at airports,” the airline said.
At the moment, only 20% of low-cost airline passengers fly with baggage that must be checked. The new rules mean they will have to arrive at the airport at least 20 minutes early.
