The basic trade union union, with the support of Fi-si, called one general strike of all categories public and private for the whole day against “rearmament, war and war economy, alongside the Palestinian people”. The mobilization will involve workers from numerous sectors, from transport to healthcare to schools.

From yesterday at 9pm the staff of the FS Group, Trenitalia, Trenitalia Tper and Trenord were stopped. Trains, Trenitalia warns, may be subject to cancellations or changes.

Essential services guaranteed

For regional transport by Trenitalia, Trenitalia Tper and Trenord, the essential services provided in the event of a strike on weekdays from 6am to 9am and from 6pm to 9pm will still be guaranteed. Trade union unrest, the group also clarifies, may lead to changes to the service even before the start and after its conclusion.

Buses and metro are also at risk. In the area of ​​Rome, the capital, for example, the strike concerns the entire Atac network and the networks of the operators Autoservizi Troiani/Sap, Autoservizi Tuscia/Bis, Atr. The service will be guaranteed exclusively during the legal time slots, i.e. from the start of service at 8.29am and from 5pm to 7.59pm.
