Anthropic will open its first Italian branch in Milan

Anthropic will open a new office in Milanthe sixth in Europe, which adds to those already active in London, Dublin, Paris, Zurich and Munich. This was announced in an official communication from the company led by Amodei brothers. The Milanese team will work alongside Italian businesses and the local developer community to bring one forward responsible development by Claudeparticipating in the debate on artificial intelligence that runs through the country’s industry and public life.

The inauguration comes shortly after the publication of Magnifica Humanitas, the first encyclical of Pope Leo XIV and the first papal teaching entirely dedicated to artificial intelligence. According to the note, Anthropic’s cutting-edge capabilities and commitment to security have already earned it the trust of many Italian businesses.

Collaborations already active

The team, led by Thomas Remyresponsible for Southern Europe, already collaborates with Generali Group and Unipol Group in financial, Angelini Pharma and Bracco Group in life sciences, Enel Group in energy and Pirelli in the automotive sector. Anthropic has also partnered with JACK to deploy Claude on over 3,000 stations, freeing up approximately 70% of senior teams’ time for higher value-added consulting activities.

Italian tech startups and scale-ups were also among the first to adopt Claude

Satispay, the financial super app with more than six million users, integrated the model into its engineering teams, compressing an 18-month roadmap into seven and updating the core payment system ten times faster than expected. In Bending Spoons, one of the largest Italian tech companies, most of the changes to the code are now co-written with Claude Code. Anthropic underlines that it also wants to bring Claude into the world of Italian creativity: during the Milan Design Week the team collaborated with Alcova Milano to organize a practical workshop aimed at professionals in the sector, demonstrating how the model integrates with the tools of industrial, furniture and interior designers, enriching their creative process.
