Jackpot owner of more than 83 billion VND did not wear a mask to receive the prize

Vietnam Lottery Company (Vietlott) awarded Mr. Bui Van Manh at its headquarters in Hanoi. This is the customer who won Jackpot 1 of the lottery drawing on May 26 worth more than 83 billion VND.

Mr. Manh said he bought the winning ticket through a self-selecting machine. Born in 1981, he currently lives in Quarter 7, Chanh Phu Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Binh Duong province).

This customer learned about winning the prize while cleaning the house with his wife. Today, he also brought his wife to receive the award with him. Mr. Manh said he decided to reveal his identity because he had long wanted that if he won the prize, he would not wear a mask when receiving it.

Mr. Manh said he has often played Vietlot since this type of computer lottery was introduced. Previously, he won side prizes many times, including twice winning 40 million VND.

After paying 10% personal income tax, he received about 75 billion VND. He spent 1 billion VND for charity. He will discuss the remaining money with his wife to spend accordingly. Mr. Manh is self-employed, and his wife sells groceries at home.

According to Vietlott leaders, Mr. Manh is the 9th billion-dollar Jackpot winner to publicly reveal his identity in the past 10 years. This is also the recipient of the highest value award from 2016 to present.

According to Vietlott’s statistics, 533 customers won billions of Jackpot prizes for two Mega and Power products with a total value of nearly 12,180 billion VND. After 10 years, 847 customers have won prizes of 1 billion VND or more with 6 types of Vietlott lottery. The total bonus payment for this group of customers is about 13,152 billion VND.

Currently, Vietlott has more than 6,100 sales points in 34 provinces and cities. The company also maintains a phone ticket sales system with more than 4 million prize accounts. This enterprise also contributed nearly 16,000 billion VND to local budgets from 2016 to present.

In the near future, the company plans to launch more lottery sales channels via the Internet. Vietlott is a state-owned enterprise represented by the Ministry of Finance and 100% owned.
