Vacations in Brazil: another airline was authorized to operate direct flights between Buenos Aires and Natal

The Government authorized LATAM Airlines Brazil to operate regular international flights between the Brazilian city of Natal and Buenos Aires. The measure was made official this Monday through Provision 12/2026 of the Undersecretary of Air Transport, published in the Official Gazette.

The authorization enables the company to provide regular air transportation services for passengers and cargo, in combination, on the Natal-Buenos Aires route and vice versa. The company had requested permission from the Argentine authorities and certified compliance with the legal and administrative requirements provided for by current regulations.

In the recitals of the provision, the Government indicated that the authorization is framed in the bilateral agreement on air transport in force between Argentina and Brazilas well as in the memorandums of understanding signed between both countries during 2024.

He also recalled that LATAM Airlines Brasil had already been designated by the Brazilian aeronautical authority to operate regular and non-regular services to Argentina.

Before granting the permit, the application received a favorable opinion from the National Directorate of Air Transport of the ANAC. With this decision, the company is enabled to commercially exploit the new air connection between northeastern Brazil and Argentina, whose launch will now depend on the airline’s operational schedule.

Natal, one of the main tourist destinations in the northeast of Brazilalready maintains a direct air connection with Buenos Aires through Gol y JetSMART.

With the authorization granted by the Argentine Government, LATAM Brazil is enabled to join this route, although The effective start of operations will depend on the commercial programming defined by the company.

The authorization is part of the scheme to further open the airline commercial market promoted by the Government, which in recent months granted new permits and expanded the operating possibilities of foreign companies within the framework of bilateral air transport agreements.
