The Government approved the entry to the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI) of the Rincón de Aranda project, of Pampa Energíathe company led by Marcelo Mindlin, with a disbursement of 4,521 million dollars for the production of crude oil in Vaca Muerta.
It is about the 20th project approved in the regime, for a cumulative amount of US$ 46,000 millionas announced by the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo. The peculiarity on this occasion is that It is the first project that includes oil production in the RIGI.
Meanwhile, the Evaluation Committee continues to analyze another 21 projects, mainly energy and mining.

Rincón de Aranda foresees a production of 305 million barrels of oil in 30 years, with total exports in that period for US$ 17,000 millionaccording to official figures.
It is a 240 square kilometer field in Neuquén, where Pampa Energía currently produces 27,000 barrels per day (bpd), with a goal of reaching 28,000 bpd by the end of the year and 45,000 from 2027.
The increase in production will take place after putting into operation a central treatment plant, coinciding with the start of operations of the Vaca Muerta Oil Sur (VMOS) pipeline.
The investment planned for the first two years amounts to 1.5 billion dollars and From next year it will generate exports of more than US$ 1.2 billion annually.
The presentation to the RIGI occurred in July 2025, but was expanded after the Government extended the legal, fiscal, customs and exchange benefits of the regime to the exploration and production of oil and gas in Vaca Muerta earlier this year.
The project will generate approximately 800 jobs direct and 1,000 indirect between its construction and operation stages.
Pampa Energía, which belongs to the brothers Marcelo and Damián Mindlin, and their partners Gustavo Mariani and Ricardo Torres, also received other good official news in these hours with the extension of the concession for the operation of the Diamante Hydroelectric Plant, in Mendoza.
Through resolution 145/2026 of the Ministry of Energy, published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette, the Government extended until December 15 the concession of that 388 megawatt (MW) dam, which represents the 0.9% of the total installed power in Argentina.
The official idea is to advance new privatizations hydroelectric plants through tenders, which will also include the Futaleufú hydroelectric plant, in Chubut, today in the hands of the aluminum giant Aluar.
The dollars paid by the new concessionaires will strengthen Caputo’s plan to pay public debt maturities in 2027.
