Mass consumption has fallen for seven months: in June it fell almost 3%

Instead, sales for e-commerce they continue to rise, con 41,4% year-on-year in June and a slight advance of 0,5% compared to the previous month, a strong month due to the Hot Sale and the promotions that continued in the following weeks.

For its part, pharmacies kept sales stable in June compared to June 2025, but they advanced 3,6% in relation to May.

Regarding performance by sector, the drop was general last month. The only category that rose was alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Sales of alcoholic beverages increased 9,4% year-on-year last month and consumption of non-alcoholic beverages advanced 3,5%.

Meanwhile, measured in pesos, sales rose 23.1% year-on-year in nominal values. The average price advanced 26.6% in the same period compared to the interannual inflation of 33,5% in June, with a cumulative 16,8% so far in 2026, according to Indec.

At the same time, the index prepared by the Torcuato Di Tella University on consumer confidence, which could not sustain three consecutive months of increases due to the perception of declining purchasing power of income. So, fell 4.8% in July.
