Strong result from Intel – Exchange rate +12%

The chip company Intel estimates in its release published on Thursday that the turnover for the third quarter will be 15.8-16.8 billion dollars. Even the lower end of the forecast range would clearly exceed the analysts’ average forecast of $15.1 billion.

Intel’s stock rose about 12 percent in the aftermarket after the results were announced. Even before the report, the stock had more than doubled since the beginning of the year, when confidence in Intel’s turnaround plan had strengthened.

In the second quarter, the company’s turnover increased by 25 percent to 16.1 billion dollars. Adjusted earnings per share were 42 cents.

According to data compiled by Bloomberg, analysts on average had predicted revenue of $14.4 billion and earnings per share of 21 cents.
