Petróleos Mexicanos concluded the repair of the submarine pipeline of the Ek Balam field, after the damage caused by an oil spill 46 nautical miles from Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche. The company reported that it installed a special metal envelope and carried out internal pressure resistance tests, from which it obtained satisfactory results. He highlighted that attention to the incident was carried out through the regional emergency care and management group of the northeastern marine region, in coordination with the Secretary of the Navy and other federal government institutions. For this, the necessary resources were deployed in order to contain the hydrocarbon and permanently monitor the area of marine platforms and the coastline of the Gulf of Mexico, without identifying the risk of crude oil on the coasts.
