The union vida is now getting serious: After negotiations for a new collective agreement for the railway workers were broken off without result on Sunday, the railway workers want to strike on Monday, November 28th, from midnight to midnight throughout Austria.
Better deal
What this can still prevent: The employers who broke off the negotiations on Sunday must return to the negotiating table and submit a significantly better offer, according to vida.
The trade association has previously offered to increase wages and salaries by 200 euros per month, but at least by 7.5 percent, for a limited period of twelve months from December 1, 2022.
“Unrealistic”
That’s not enough for the union, they want at least 400 euros more per month. One-off payments outside of the collective agreement would not be an option. For employers, this is considered “unrealistic and unfeasible”.
