The number of foreign workers in Israel has returned to pre-war levels

The Office of Population and Migration Registration under the Ministry of Internal Affairs has published data on the attraction of foreign workers to Israel. The report covers six months after the outbreak of the War of Iron Swords and Black Saturday on October 7, which significantly changed the approach to the continued use of Palestinian workers.

According to this document, before the start of the war there were 147,829 legal foreign workers in Israel; at present, this number is 149,613.

To attract foreign workers to Israel, over the past six months, 10 delegations have traveled to different countries, four of them went to Sri Lanka, two to Moldova, three to India and one to Cambodia. Currently, Israel has signed agreements with 14 countries to attract workers to Israel. 20,405 people were tested for the necessary skills.

In April, 2,500 foreign workers are expected to arrive to work in the construction industry.
